Sverrir is a star of Swedish and Icelandic film and TV. He stars in Hlynur Pálmason’s latest feature THE LOVE THAT REMAINS which is the Icelandic candidate for Best International Feature Film in the 2026 Academy Awards. Sverrir’s breakthrough role for international audiences was his performance as ‘Bjorn Borg’ in BORG VS MCENROE starring opposite Shia LaBeouf for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the European Film Awards. He also starred opposite Claire Foy in Fede Álvarez’s film THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER’S WEB. He starred as a younger Viggo Mortensen in Viggo’s directorial debut FALLING for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the at the CinEuphoria Awards.

Other recent film credits include Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurðsson’s dark comedy NORTHERN COMFORT starring opposite Timothy Spall and Lydia Leonard and Amanda Kernell’s film CHARTER. In 2022 he was nominated for Best Performance at the International Emmy’s for his performance as ‘Kurt Haijby’ in the Swedish series A ROYAL SECRET.
